Folio:, a magazine for the publishing industry, names Marianna Morello, CEO of Manhattan Media Services and a Direct Response Hall of Famer, as one of its 2018 Top Women in Media honorees in the Industry Trailblazers category. She will receive the award on June 7 in New York.

Nielsen unveils a new tool called Grabix that lets user analyze local market or national TV ratings in real time and correlates minute-by-minute audience ratings from Nielsen’s conventional TV ratings samples and methods with real-time data from Gracenote, the meta data automatic content recognition measurement platform Nielsen acquired last year.

The Media Rating Council (MRC) gives Facebook accreditation of its ad impressions on Facebook and Instagram. MRC also awarded accreditation for Instagram ad impressions across the same environments. “We recognize the industry’s desire for more independent third-party validation, so this is welcome progress,” Brad Smallwood, Facebook’s vice president of marketing science, said. “We look forward to continuing our verification work with the MRC.”

Digital media company Fullscreen buys Reelio, a platform that connects brands to top influencers across the social web. Reelio’s platform, which is informed by data science and proprietary technology, will be added to Fullscreen’s suite of influencer marketing tools that’s offered to its partners on both the brand and creative sides of the online video business. 

eMarketer predicts more than $46 billion will go to programmatic advertising in the U.S. this year, about $10 billion more than last year. That means 82.5 percent of all U.S. digital display ads will be bought via automated channels in 2018.
