Nielsen To Make Metric Shift
NEW YORK – Media measurement firm Nielsen has decided to change the metric upon which ad deals for local television ads are measured. In an effort to improve ratings for local broadcasts – which are often watched on digital video recorders minutes or days later – Nielsen wants to implement a “live-plus-same-day” measurement, which would account for viewers who watch either live or within 24 hours of air time.   SF Video expands its global capability into China. With the expansion, SF Video has the breadth to generate 300,000 DVDs and 500,000 CDs per day by leveraging the latest technology, including Blu-ray, and a workforce in excess of 400.

  Crown Imports awards Horizon Media all planning and buying business for the company, including the Corona Extra and Modelo Especial beer brands. The business, which excludes out-of-home media, will be managed out of Horizon¹s Los Angeles Office.

  Prosodie Interactive, an IVR and customer service solutions company, offers Max-Route, an array of solutions for the DR industry featuring a call routing platform, which eliminates problems caused by using multiple call centers.

  GSI Commerce Inc., provider of E-commerce multi-channel solutions, has signed a multi-year contract to provide Mattel, the leading manufacturer of toys, with E-commerce technology, fulfillment, customer care and marketing services. GSI recently launched four specialty Web stores for the company including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Disney and another site featuring interactive games.

  PBandJ Partners – producer and editor of commercials – and Lipenwald – a DR marketing company that markets through the Internet, catalogs, direct mail and television – team up to create a new spot, slated for release this spring, for Liquid Steel, which seals, shines and protects cars’ paint, glass and chrome 18 times longer than wax.
