Cannella Response Television has been named the exclusive infomercial media representative for The Hotel Networks. The Hotel Networks is a leading supplier of free-to-guest programming to hotels, currently serving more than 300,000 hotel rooms, reaching more than nine million customers per month. The Hotel Networks, based in New York and formerly known as Hotelvision, is a majority-owned subsidiary of On Command Corp., a Liberty Media Affiliate. Cannella specializes in television direct response media placement on national cable networks and broadcast stations.

Several online car shoppers are tuning into CarTV to shape their buying decisions. The Internet broadcast division of Autobytel Inc. reports that it served more than 293,047 hours of online video programming from January to October 2005 via the Autobytel network of auto consumer sites and the other outlets. The amount of video served by the company has grown exponentially throughout the year with a 2,278-percent increase in user-initiated video views since Jan.1 and 45,000 hours of video served in October alone.

Info Sales Inc. recently announced a new block of infomercial airtime available on WBPH in the Philadelphia market. WBPH added an extra 12 time periods per week from 5-6:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.  The station will air regular programming leading into and out of the new infomercial block.

Long-time direct marketing professional Peter K. Neff was named CEO of the Vector Group of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Neff has been in the direct marketing industry for more than 30 years. He founded one of the first direct marketing-centric advertising agencies in Germany, which he then incorporated with Grey Direct Intl. serving as the acting partner for a decade. He is also the founder of the German and Austrian Academy for Direct Marketing and honorary president of the German Direct Marketing Association (DDV).

O’Currance Teleservices, a leading provider of inbound telemarketing products and services, recently promoted Cynthia Ahlstrom to vice president of operations. Associated with O’Currance since April 2005, Ahlstrom was formerly the director of operations. Ahlstrom has more than 19 years of experience in managing telemarketing call centers and call center operations.

Anand Chhatpar, CEO of BrainReactions, and four other entrepreneurs from across the country were named to BusinessWeek’s top five entrepreneurs under the age of 25.

National marketing agency RTC Relationship Marketing (RTCRM), a Young & Rubicam Brands affiliate, announced the addition of two executives. Tom O’Connell was named senior vice president, account director, and will work from RTCRM’s Madison Avenue office in New York. Gayatri Bhalla was named vice president, account director, and will work at the agency’s headquarters office in Washington, D.C.

The Phelps Group, one of the nation’s leading integrated marketing communications (IMC) firms, was recently selected by PSI, a leading provider of workforce testing services, and Cedarlane Natural Foods, maker of all-natural frozen foods, to carry out IMC campaigns consisting of advertising and public relations services. Public relations veteran Bill Krenn will lead both accounts. The combined capitalized billings for the two accounts are approximately $3million.
