New Valpak App Offers Mobile Coupons14 Oct, 2009 Response This Week
LARGO, Florida – Direct mail coupon company Valpak launched an iPhone and iPod Touch campaign that offers customers access to using a free App.
“It’s just one more way that Valpak makes it easier for consumers to save,” says Greg Bicket, president of Cox Target Media, which owns Valpak. “This new App permits instant gratification as well as instant point of purchase redemption of Valpak coupons.”
Valpak.com, started in 1998, has 20 million views per month and allows consumers to print coupons. For 41 years, the coupons have also been available by mail to 45 million homes.
The new application allows consumers access to coupons from more than 17,000 businesses. And for more targeted marketing, the application tracks the user’s location by ZIP code to offer local coupons. An iPhone customer can also use the function to get business’ directions, or tap on the phone number to call the company directly.
“One of the things that we are attempting to do is to help Valpak extend its print business into the digital world,” says Jim Buckley, director of the new media business development team at Valpak. “Our goal in doing this is to bundle our overall advertising strategy with our print business.”
In addition to entering further into the digital space, the goal of the application is to reach the younger spectrum of the brand’s target audience, women ages 25-54.
