Cover Shots Draw a Crowd to Response Booth

 

LAS VEGAS — The Response Magazine booth was a hot spot on the Electronic Retailing Association's (ERA) annual convention show floor on Sept. 11-12, as visitors flocked to have their photos taken for a mock Response cover. Visitors overwhelmed the Response booth during the two days, as the opportunity to appear on the "cover" of the industry's leading publication was too good to be true for industry newbies and veterans alike.


 

"We shot and printed covers as fast as we could, but we were so swamped, we still had to bring some back to the office to mail out," says Monica Kollmann, Response's graphics director, who was in charge of the promotion. "The promotion got an even better response than we expected!"


 

 

Hill Helps OLM to New Heights in Japan

 

Harry Hill, president of Oak Lawn Marketing (OLM) in Nagoya, Japan, joined the company in 1999. OLM was founded in Japan in 1991 by Tadashi Nakamura and Robert Roche, a long-time friend and business associate. The company does business in Japan under the name Shop Japan — which concentrates on introducing successful U.S. products to the Japanese market — and also recently added a new brand, Hill's Collection, that will focus on continuity products built internally and from the United States. Response caught up with Hill to find out his latest news and what's new around OLM.
