The second most popular CE product for the holidays is the cell phone. Following cell phones are laptop computers and then LCD flat panel televisions.

Although there will be more spending in the CE arena, respondents reported that their overall spending throughout the holidays would decrease. The number of people who said they were willing to spend more was down 18 percent, compared to 19.5 percent last year. And 18 percent said they would spend less this year.

When consumers decide to spend their seasonal funds, they are likely to shop at home entertainment and big-box specialty stores, such as Best Buy (49 percent) and Circuit City (18 percent). Consumers are also planning to do some one-stop shopping online at sites such as (16 percent).
