Entrepreneurs Vie For PepsiCo10 Spot
28 Jul, 2010 By: Jackie JonesPURCHASE, N.Y. – Twenty entrepreneurs in the technology, media and communications industry presented Tuesday at the PepsiCo10 Summit, a gathering of PepsiCo brand and marketing teams, agency partners and venture capitalists.
The 20 presenters – who were selected from nearly 500 online submissions – are vying to join the PepsiCo10, be matched up with industry mentors and activate pilot programs within PepsiCo brands.
“The top 20 PepsiCo10 finalists are incredibly talented and creative – an energizing source of outside innovation that we welcome into our organization,” said Seth Kaufman, director of media strategy and investment for PepsiCo North America Beverages. “We look forward to hearing their proposals and partnering with them to inspire new approaches and opportunities to engage our consumers and retail partners.”
After the two-day PepsiCo10 Summit, up to 10 start-ups will be honored. Among the start-ups are several TV technologies, mobile couponing solutions, niche social networking platforms and a consumer engagement point for consumer packaged goods companies and retailers, according to PepsiCo.
“Technology and communications is the meeting place for brand experience today, and that is why we created the PepsiCo 10 – to help foster ideas that nexus,” said B. Bonin Bough, director of digital and social media for PepsiCo. “For our company, social and digital media is a growing business driver, and it is important for us to constantly seek out new partners and opportunities in the space.”
