Home Shopping Latino, a Delaware Corporation, with the help of Global Media Fund, launches a nationwide media campaign for the company and its subsidiary, Viva Telecompras. In addition, the network will offer its own credit card and payment plan.

Joanne Bradford joins Yahoo! as senior vice president, U.S. revenue and market development. Bradford spent the previous six months with Spot Runner after leaving a seven-year position as corporate vice president of global sales and marketing and chief media-revenue officer at Microsoft.

Overstock.com will open its virtual doors to customers in 34 countries including Canada and the European Union sometime next year. Previously, only U.S. consumers could purchase from the site. 

Metro One Telecommunications offers a new data service, Counts and Order System, that allows marketers to perform a quick query to identify the number of recent movers – 1.3 million households and businesses relocate each month – in any given geography and then order the contact lists on a self-serve basis from any computer.

Residential Finance Corporation (RFC), a nationwide mortgage lender, hires Jessica Manna as vice president and CMO to direct marketing, communications and business growth. Previously Manna was vice president of business development for the marketing agency Intellidyn.

Newsday Media Group announces two leadership appointments: Kenneth J. DePaola is named executive vice president, sales and marketing, and Terry Jimenez is named COO and CFO.  DePaola comes to Newsday with experience from numerous executive positions in newspaper publishing including president of Tribune Media Net. Jimenez, most recently Newsday vice president, joined Newsday as CFO 2005.

Disney-ABC Television Group ads three executives to its digital media team: Karin Timpone joins as senior vice president, product strategy and marketing for the digital media team; Lauren DeVillier joins as vice president, digital media, Disney Channel; and Beth Johnson has joined as vice president, digital media, ABC Daytime & SOAPnet.

Montreal-based Transcontinental Inc. acquires Rastar Inc., a U.S.-based direct marketing company that specializes in interactive database marketing and variable-data digital printing. This move will further expand Transcontinental’s integrated marketing services offering and enable its clients to achieve the best possible returns on their marketing campaigns.

QuickMobile releases Version 2.0 of its Contextual Mobile Marketing Platform, which allows brand managers and marketers to create permission-based campaigns that provide consumers with personalized, timely and relevant information on their mobile device.

FarmaSea Health LLC announces its independence from ITV Direct, Direct Marketing Concepts and ITV Ventures since the conclusion of their three-year contract in March. FarmaSea Health owns more than 80 Internet domain names related to its brands and now owns full manufacturing rights to its brands.

The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company has selected Tribal DDB Worldwide for the digital initiatives of its U.S. brands. Tribal DDB will work with Wrigley’s other marketing agencies to develop and integrate a digital strategy.
