Boost Mobile, a division of Sprint Corp., names Matt Carter as senior vice president and general manager. Carter, whose experience spans more than 20 years with companies such as Bristol Myers, Coca-Cola, Leap Wireless and BellSouth, will now lead Boost’s operations, including the marketing, sales and distribution, product development, finance and customer service departments.  

Marketing research firm Forrester Research Inc. acquires JupiterResearch LLC and its parent company, JUPR Holdings Inc., from MCG Capital Corp. for $23 million.

Hawthorne Direct names Mandy Wagler the media account management operations manager. Wagler, with Hawthorne Direct for almost seven years, works with clients such as Oreck, Aero Products Intl., Time-Life and Esteem. Hawthorne also announces its recent win of two Platinum Awards from the international 2007 MarCom Awards for its work on Nova Sonic Skin Care System for Valcent Products and the RejuvaWand Skin Care System for Light Dimensions. Hawthorne’s work for Medifast earned a Gold Award and Honorable Mentions for Acidophilus Pearls for Enzymatic Therapy and High Plains Bison.

REVShare, provider of cost-per-action television advertising, has named Thomas R. Moyes as CFO. Moyes brings more than 25 years experience in finance, strategic planning and accounting, much of it in the broadcast and cable TV industry, to his new role as the company’s key financial specialist.

Respond2, a direct response creative agency, and Cmedia, a media planning, research and buying agency, acquire online San-Francisco-based Chautauqua Communications, a company that specializes in online creative, digital media and direct mail. The newly formed team is now called R2C Group.

Recently launched For Goodness Shakes sports drink campaign will advertise throughout the Olympic Games. The campaign’s goal, being managed by London based ARM Direct Ltd., is to elevate For Goodness Shakes as a sports recovery drink in the United States and Europe.

A new report from Integrated Media Measurement Inc. (IMMI) says that more than 20 percent of people watch some amount of primetime television programming online. Within the group of online viewers, 50 percent are watching programming as it becomes available and are beginning to use the computer as a substitute for the TV set, and the other 50 percent are using the Web as a tool to watch programming they missed on TV or to rewatch segments of episodes.

OceanGuaranteed, which offers delivery from Asia to the United States for less than containerload cargo, has added Canada to its list of destinations. It has also opened its first inland point of origin in Asia – Guangzhou, China.

Marion Guthrie joins DMW Worldwide LLC as account director, serving clients in the health insurance industry. Previously, Guthrie was assistant vice president/director of marketing for AEGON Direct Marketing Services.
