Ray Golden joins Teleperformance Corp., a global contact center management company, as vice president of new business development in the direct response division.

iRobot Corp. announces that it will use the GSI Commerce Inc.’s E-commerce platform to power its direct-to-consumer business in Europe through online stores in the United Kingdom.

Direct Response Media hires Nicole Kearney as account services manager. Kearney, previously marketing manager for Pure Weight Loss, will be responsible for the management of key client relationship across industry verticals.

Robinson Radio Inc. launches Robinson Radio Networks (RRN) LLC, a full-service, end-to-end advertising firm solely dedicated to developing, producing and placing long-form radio programming. RRN will create radio programming for any duration an advertiser needs whether it be a 10-, 30- or 60-minute program.

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) hires Linda A. Woolley as executive vice president of government affairs. Most recently, Woolley was the principal of LegisLaw, a full-service public affairs and government relations consulting firm that she founded in 1999.

BackJoy LLC hires Kent Mora’s DR Support Team to assist with its direct response initiatives as well as provide the company with campaign and operational management.

Jon Roska, founder, CEO and chief creative officer of Roska Direct Advertising, will receive the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) Edward N. Mayer, Jr. Education Leadership Award; Seth D. Radwell, president of e-Scholastic and executive vice president of Scholastic will receive the DMEF Corporate Leadership Award on behalf of Scholastic; and Edward C. Malthouse, Ph.D., professor of integrated marketing communications at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, will receive the 2008 Robert B. Clarke Outstanding Educator Award.

The “Project Interact II” survey, conducted by The Parthenon Group, reports that Backchannelmedia’s TV-to-Internet click-through interactivity platform for digital TV would drive viewers to switch to other multi-channel video providers in order to get the Backchannelmedia service. Backchannelmedia’s technology allows the viewer to interact with non-intrusive “clickable moments” that appear on TV during both commercials and programming, which will forward stories to the online world for follow-up.

Ringleader Digital, a third-party ad-serving network for mobile devices, hires Sonjoy Ganguly as vice president of product management. His duties will include setting product strategy, defining the roadmap of major initiatives and managing the ad operations and marketing strategies for the organization.

Certona, a provider of automated optimization and personalization solutions for multi-channel retailers, has closed a $7 million Series A financing led by ABS Ventures, with participation from previous investor Express Ventures. The funding will be used to expand the company’s sales, marketing, customer support and product development resources.
