DRTV media veterans Stacy Durand, Ben Zimmerman and Patrick Romagnano are partnering with Revenue Frontier to start Media Design Group, an agency offering comprehensive media solutions. Durand will act as president of the agency, as well as retain her position at Revenue Frontier; Zimmerman will be executive vice president for Media Design Group; and Romagnano will serve as CFO.

Ronco Acquisition Corp. announces the return of Larry Nusbaum as chairman, CEO and president of Ronco. Nusbaum originally led Ronco out of bankruptcy in 2007 and restructured and reestablished Ronco's DRTV business.

John Burbank, previously CMO for AOL, joins The Nielsen Co. in the newly created position of CMO.

Thill Logistics has moved into a newly refurbished 384,000-square-foot facility. Combined with the old facility, the Wisconsin company now has 596,000 square feet of space.

GSI Commerce Inc. reports its financial results for first-quarter 2008, which included an exceptional growth in net revenue, up 34 percent to $195.5 million from $146.3 million.

Rachel Serroni is promoted to assistant program manager for Direct Response Media, Inc., a direct response television (DRTV) management company based in Wayne, Pa. In this role, Serroni will be responsible for the management of DRTV campaigns for key clients.  


Teletrax – a global broadcast intelligence company – and Myers Publishing, LLC – a television and interactive media research authority – release a report stating that advertising and media industries are rapidly embracing improved research and measurement technologies. Twenty senior executives from the media buying, advertising, measurement and product marketing communities were interviewed for the report “Great Expectations: Research Industry Looks Toward a New Era in Media Measurement.”

Vertis Communications reports the findings of its “Customer Focus 2008: Economic Study,” which revealed that 91 percent of Americans will change their buying behavior in 2008 in the wake of current economic conditions, with 60 percent specifically cutting back on purchases. Also, 59 percent of consumers said they would begin bundling shopping trips due to rising gas prices.

Motion Network Holding Plc (MNH), parent company of Motion Network TV (MNTV) – the first 24/7 free movie channel in Europe – announces the appointment of Budd Margolis as director of eCommerce. The new position combines MNH’s European vision with the ability to provide services to a global audience.

The Associated Press selects Transpera as the video services provider for its Mobile News Network – a platform for wireless customers with video-capable phones. The program will be a single point of access to local, national and international news for mobile users.

24/7 Real Media Inc., a leading global digital marketing company, announces it will deploy psychographic targeting through a partnership with Mindset Media LLC. The Mindset Buys will enable brand advertisers to target consumers with specific personality traits that drive buyer behavior and brand affinity across a broad range of goods and services.

OpenTV Corp., a provider of solutions for advanced television and advanced advertising services, hires Paul Woidke – formerly of Comcast Spotlight – as senior vice president and general manager, advanced advertising.

Discovery Communications has selected TransMedia Dynamics (TMD) – an organization focused on solutions for the global media and broadcast industries – to design and implement a media management and workflow solution based on the company’s Mediaflex product for its in-house post-production facility in Silver Spring, Md.

Rebecca Manley has joined the Imagine Fulfillment Services (IFS) and IFS Television Business Development team.
