Vice President, Direct Response and Paid Programming
An 18-year veteran of Discovery Communications, Declan O’Connor, vice president, direct response and paid programming, has served in various capacities throughout his tenure, playing an instrumental role in the ad-supported launch of several cable networks. Currently, he oversees the sale of direct response and paid programming inventory across a portfolio of 13 Discovery Networks, in addition to their digital platforms, including Revision3 and VOD. Based out of the advertising sales headquarters in New York, he reports to Maria Kennedy, senior vice president, direct response and paid programming. Before joining Discovery, O’Connor began his career in the direct response industry as a spot and cable buyer at an independently owned advertising agency. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Limerick, Ireland, and lives in Woodside, N.Y., with his wife and son.
