Amy Leifer is vice president of direct response and paid programming sales for DIRECTV. Leifer is responsible for the sales and management of the direct response advertiser sales business, which includes all direct response sales on the company’s clusters, live sports and addressable advertising. Direct response and paid programming sales contribute more than $300 million to DIRECTV’s ad sales revenue. By creating a more streamlined workflow and increased discipline to the core business, average unit rates under Leifer’s leadership have increased by double digits and productivity has dramatically increased. She also oversees the 29 full-time channels that include infomercials, live shopping and paid programmer channels. Prior to DIRECTV, Leifer was vice president of sales and operations at the Game Show Network (GSN), where she managed the sales of the linear network for both direct response and general rate sales, and oversaw the pricing and planning department responsible for creating rate cards and managing stewardship for all deals sold. She also worked at Columbia TriStar Television and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Rhode Island.
