Response Editorial Advisory Board

The Response Magazine Editorial Advisory Board was established to provide the magazine with input from industry experts to help shape the broad editorial content of the magazine. The purpose of this is to provide the editors with direction from those who deal with the topics we cover every day and to provide a voice for the industry when the direction of the magazine seems to be running counter to the best interests of our readers. We believe that such an advisory board will help us to develop a better editorial product, which will benefit the industry as a whole.

Beginning with the 2010 service year, these are the updated service groups and guidelines for the Response Magazine Editorial Advisory Board (EAB).
•The EAB will have no fewer than 13 and no more than 16 members at any time
•EAB members are appointed and/or relieved of duty at the discretion of the leadership of Response Magazine
•One spot in each EAB service group is expected to turn over on an annual basis, meaning there will be up to four new members of the  EAB annually
•Non-emeritus EAB members will serve a term of no more than four years on the board
•The EAB will be broken down into five groups of service, each with its own target number of board members:

  • Emeritus (4): due to years of exemplary service to the EAB, these members are appointed to a lifetime (or until retirement) membership
  • Marketer (3): product marketers using DR marketing as all or part of their marketing mix
  • Network (3): television network representatives, whether employed by a single network or serving as a rep firm for multiple networks
  • Service Provider (3): vendors or agencies providing DR industry services to marketers
  • Wildcard (3): includes members who represent international DR businesses, industry educational firms, industry research firms, and other businesses that do not fit clearly into the other categories
