Get Out What You Put In

20 Jun, 2017 By: Justin Kilgore

When it came time to renew my DRMA membership this year, there was no question what I was going to do. I have received tremendous value out of my DRMA membership with DRMA during the past 12 years — and I know you will too.

I remember the first Response Expo I attended to in beautiful San Diego. I had been in the direct response space for eight years, but – serving in a different role – I hadn’t been to many shows. Honestly, it’s a bit intimidating going to an event like this when you are a new face. You have tons of names floating around – or none at all – that you want to meet.

The DRMA provides you the opportunity to make that all-important face-to-face connection. I can’t stress enough the importance of attending the Expo or the DRMA’s other networking events to bolster your company – and face – recognition.

Attend, sponsor, and promote at these events. So many things have changed in the DR business – and they will continue to change. To keep up with these changes, you need to be talking to your peers and competitors to evolve your business – and your pitch. The DRMA is the right place to do this.

Year after year, the DRMA continues to strengthen its offering to members. It offers opportunities to promote, support, learn, and develop within the industry. Like all things, you get out of it what you put into it – so you have to participate. Know what is going on, what events are coming up next, and plan for them.

The DRMA, and its member companies, can help guide you with their experiences and share their knowledge. I’ve been overwhelmed with the caliber, sincerity, and genuine nature of the people within the DRMA. We can be competing companies and friends alike. The variety of backgrounds is amazing and the intelligence level is incredibly high.

I value my membership in the DRMA due to the opportunities it has offered me, the friendships I’ve forged, and the knowledge I’ve gained – all of which have helped me maintain and grow our business. I know it will help you too. DRMA certainly puts the unity in community.
