In addition to constant close evaluation of metrics and trial of new media, there are three top reasons for our success during the past 12 months in particular:

  1. We have a highly differentiated and quality product, and we are able to communicate our value proposition succinctly across all channels. Potential customers who hear about us on the radio, see a display ad, see us on TV, or see another one of our ads are inclined to learn more about our products — if not immediately, then when they realize that they need a new set of sheets.
  2. We were very successful last fall after positioning ourselves well to take advantage of the increased listenership during a very busy political cycle. Locking in several exclusives with radio hosts and podcasts certainly served us well, especially as our category has become more competitive.
  3. Our marketing strategy is able to adjust during typically soft retail months and flex up during key gifting and shopping times like Black Friday, Christmas, and Mother's Day. This has allowed us to see continued growth. We know which months should be more experimental with new media and when we should stick with what is proven to maximize efficiency.

Due to effective advertising and smart spending, Boll & Branch was able to achieve profitability in its third year of business while maintaining strong revenue growth. We have also had mostly profitable months in 2017 and will finish our year ahead of plan and profitable for the year.
