Seven advertising-services companies (Adstream, Comcast Technology Solutions, Burns Entertainment & Sports Marketing, Entertainment Communications Network, Syncro Services Digital Media, Yangaroo, and The Team Companies) form an ad consortium to find more efficiency in the tracking and distributing of creative advertising content. “Creative asset management is one of the biggest pain points for the industry, given how complex the landscape is from start to finish,” says Ian Wheal, global strategy director at Adstream.

Amazon completes its first product delivery by a drone – dropping off an Amazon Fire TV in the backyard of a customer in England. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos broke the news with a tweet: “First-ever #AmazonPrimeAir customer delivery is in the books. 13 min [from] click to delivery.”

T-Mobile targets AT&T customers by offering a free year of basic DirecTV Now service to users who switch and activate two lines of service. MoffettNathanson Research reports that traditional media will see a 6-percent decline in advertising next year – all due to unfavorable comparisons for TV networks and stations in 2016, and poorer-than-expected newspaper results. This revision, from an earlier estimate that was slightly down, now says traditional media will slip 5.8 percent in 2017, following a 0.8 percent gain in 2016.
