Today's Sessions: DRMA Marketer of the Year Finalists, Overcoming Counterfeiting Challenges, and More!

SAN DIEGO – Today’s Educational Sessions at Response Expo 2012 include a roundtable by Direct Response Marketing Alliance (DRMA) Marketer of the Year finalists, insights from top marketers and industry lawyers on combating counterfeiters, an exploration of how social media impacts consumers and advertisers alike, and much more!

All Educational Sessions are held in Rooms 400 and 410 of the Sapphire Level at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, and are open to All-Access Badge holders only.

“We’re thrilled to once again provide top-notch Educational Sessions to 3,000 of the DR industry’s leaders – from marketers to agencies to vendors to inventors,” said Thomas Haire, content director of Response Expo and editor-in-chief of Response Magazine. “There’s no doubt in my mind every attendee will have a memorable and valuable experience.”

David Choi of DRMA Marketer of the Year Hearthware Inc., BJ Fazeli of BJ Global Direct and Steve Heroux of Hampton Direct – both among the finalists for last year’s award – begin the day’s sessions at 10 a.m. in Room 400, and will share their unique expertise on the secrets of their success and some of the industry’s hottest current topics. Thomas Haire, editor-in-chief of Response Magazine and content director of Response Expo, serves as moderator.

Following the first session, “Expanding DR’s Perspectives” begins at 11:15 a.m. in Room 410, Sapphire Level. It features Tim Judd of eLocal Listing, Shail Prasad of TELEBrands and Scott Reid of Oak Lawn Marketing discussing the confluence of mobile marketing, social media and retail opportunities that continue to create new avenues for DRTV products and marketers. Jennifer Tarsitano of E+M Advertising will moderate.

At 12:30 p.m. in Room 400, All-Access Badge holders can join Jeff Campbell of SENSA, Denise Kovac of Full Service Marketing and Johann Verheem of FitnessIQ at “Counterfeits, Knockoffs and Digital Reputation Mangaement,” where Linda Goldstein of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips will moderate a discussion on how the DR industry defines and delineates between counterfeits and knockoffs, and how the industry should attack the issues surrounding online reputation management.

Hear from marketers who have used social media to turn online conversation about their brand and products into sales at “How Social Media Impacts Your Customer,” at 1:45 p.m. in Room 410. Speakers include Steven Aquavia of Bosley, Rachel Braun Scherl of Semprae Laboratories and Patrick McLean of Capital One, and Greg Sarnow of Direct Response Academy will serve as moderator.

The final Educational Session of the day features leading experts in the DR business discussing “How to Convert All the Orders You Didn’t Get.” In Room 400 at 3 p.m., speakers Pat Boos of Time-Life Inc., Carla Roberts of Team 360 and David Scudder of American Telecast, as well as moderator Doug Garnett of Atomic Direct, will discuss the successes they’ve found converting apparently lost sales opportunities in an industry where direct sales are becoming tougher to close as retail gains momentum in DR.

In addition, the Expo Hall opens for its second full day at 10 a.m., and features the most respected and innovative companies in the DR industry. See and experience the latest and greatest products, technologies and services, and meet face-to-face with executives, product developers and company representatives on the Expo Hall floor until 5 p.m.
