a2b Fulfillment announces its new EZ START Fulfillment program, designed to simplify the DRTV start-up process. It will feature a package of the company’s most popular back-end functions for DR campaigns, including fulfillment with same-day shipping, order management, customer service, payment processing and system set-up and integrations.

Zadspace Inc. announces it has expanded its Orchard Brands’ catalog program to include packages shipped by Blair, Haband, Appleseed’s, Tog Shop, Linen Source, Old Pueblo Traders, Bedford Fair, Sahalie, Solutions, Norm Thompson, Gold Violin, Draper’s & Damon’s and WinterSilks. The expansion, scalable to more than a million packages per month, follows a successful pilot program that ran from September 2011 to June 2012.

As Seen On TV, Inc announces it will acquire DR weight loss company eDiets.com in an all-stock transaction valued near $13 million. The deal is expected to close by the start of 2013, just in time for the peak sales season of diet products and services.

Facebook has begun testing an updated design for its self-serve ad tool it launched in May to further simplify ad creation and set clear objectives. The tool aims to streamline the process and help advertisers to optimize campaigns based on their marketing goals.

DISH Network reports it has taken a 7-percent stake in Rentrak Corp., a media-measurement company, while agreeing to supply it with exclusive access to its set-top-box data until 2016. In addition to 700,000 shares, DISH will receive $5.8 million in cash.

Univision announces it has teamed with multiscreen ad platform company, Mixpo, to introduce multiscreen interactive tools for marketers called Base Plus Media that will allow Univision clients to run ads on-air and with interactivity across the Web, mobile phones, tablets and apps via one tech provider.

Gartner, the media research company, releases a study that says digital strategies like social marketing will influence at least 80 percent of consumers’ discretionary spending by 2015. The findings, part of a joint study with ExactTarget, suggest that brands need to integrate their campaigns, such as E-mail, social, search, voice, video and more. Gartner estimates that 6.7 billion devices will connect to the Internet by 2014.
