Mercury Media Acquires iMarketing

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Mercury Media, a privately owned, full-service direct response media agency, announces the acquisition of iMarketing, a full-service digital agency, in a move to extend Mercury’s expertise in measurable media performance from offline to online.

The new company is called Mercury iMarketing and specializes in search marketing, online media planning and buying, affiliate marketing, social media, mobile marketing, creative and Web development, research and analytics technology. 

With client billings of more than $30 million, some of Mercury iMarketing’s customers include Hoveround, eDiets, Premier Care in Bathing, Barclays, Yahoo!, Deal Chicken, American Express Publishing and The Wall Street Journal. iMarketing has been in business for nearly 15 years and has an impressive record of success across a wide range of product and service categories.

John Barnes, CEO of Mercury Media, said Mercury’s priority is to provide clients with “superior service and results” said that iMarketing offers Mercury “tremendous digital expertise and resources” as well as analytics systems. “iMarketing provides us with a full suite of online media services and places Mercury in an ideal position to take full advantage of the coming convergence of television and digital media,” he added.

Keith Kochberg, CEO of iMarketing, said joining with Mercury Media “was an easy decision to make as we’ve partnered with them in the past and share a lot of the same values.”
Kochberg added that that the merger will let the new entity to “advance our client’s business in the face of a rapidly changing media environment which will be driven by vast amounts of data, and a convergence of television, online and mobile services, and by IP technologies.”
