Comcast, Twitter Offer Instant TV

16 Oct, 2013 By: Doug McPherson

PHILADELPHIA – In November, Comcast customers will be able to access TV shows instantly and directly from a Tweet with the click of a button. The feature, called “See It," will feature shows from NBCUniversal’s networks.

And NBCUniversal will join Twitter’s ‘Amplify’ program that embeds sponsored, real-time video clips in tweets to foster higher TV viewer awareness. As part of this, NBCUniversal’s advertising clients can expand their TV and digital sponsorships to Twitter through Amplify.

So all NBCUniversal’s businesses – two broadcast networks (Spanish- and English-language), 17 cable networks and more than 50 digital properties can extend the reach of advertising campaigns and sponsorships.

MediaPost News reports that Comcast and Twitter are exploring additional opportunities to merge social TV conversations into Comcast’s X1 entertainment operating system.
