Hans van der Garde to Head Up New Thane Subsidiary in Germany

TORONTO — DRMA member Thane Direct, a multi-channel direct marketer of consumer products in the fitness, health and beauty, and housewares categories, has launched a new subsidiary in Germany to oversee the company’s expanding retail presence abroad.

Hans van der Garde, a retail distribution veteran executive, will head up Thane Deutschland GMBH.

“The creation of Thane Deutschland and appointment of Hans van der Garde has been instantly met with tremendous support by retail and mail order companies throughout Germany,” says Daniela Todorovic, president of Thane Direct. “Germany is an exciting growth market for Thane, and we are extremely pleased to further solidify our presence in this vital market with the formation of Thane Deutschland under Hans’ expert guidance.”

Thane products to be represented by Thane Deutschland for retail distribution include the Ab Doer Twist, Total Flex, Orbitrek, H20 Mop, Tobi Garment Steamers and many others. In addition, Thane Deutschland will house a new warehouse facility to increase efficiency of the company’s growing German retail and mail order accounts.

Cannella Response Television Breaks Ground on New Corporate Headquarters

BURLINGTON, Wis. — DRMA member Cannella Response Television LLC has broken ground on a new corporate headquarters in Burlington, Wis., that will double the company’s space in order to accommodate a significant staff expansion.

The new headquarters will be located in the Burlington Manufacturing and Office Park, and is expected to be completed by the end of November.

“This marks a new and exciting chapter in the history of our company,” says Frank Cannella, founder and executive director of Cannella Response Television. “Most notably, it is a testament to the great team that we have here; a team that has generated record growth for our company at a time when the industry as a whole is struggling.”

Innotrac Signs Multi-Year Fulfillment Agreement with United Sporting Companies

ATLANTA — DRMA member Innotrac Corp., a provider of technology-based, integrated fulfillment solutions for global brands, has signed a multi-year fulfillment agreement with United Sporting Companies (USC).

United Sporting Companies, a holding company for Ellett Brothers LLC and Jerry’s Sports Center, wholesales sporting goods, hunting, fishing, camping and marine equipment and accessories sold exclusively through stocking retail dealers. Innotrac will supplement USC’s distribution and logistics network by providing additional fulfillment for the western region, according to Larry Hanger, senior vice president of client service at Innotrac.

“Innotrac has significant B2B fulfillment experience, and the locations, infrastructure and technology required to accurately process complex retail replenishment orders,” says Kevin Harte, vice president of operations for USC. “Our retailers will benefit from having fulfillment closer to their locations, which will get shipments to them faster and that has the potential to improve their inventory turns.”
